A5 Nature-Themed Journal

Handmade book, art journal

It’s been a while since I shared anything I’ve been making so I thought I would show off this A5 journal I have just finished.

The pages inside are a mixture of all kinds – printable journal pages, copier paper stained with tea and coffee, old book pages, scrapbooking papers, scraps of watercolour paper and more. There are plenty of pages left blank to write on, and I’ve included quite a few flaps and ‘pockets’ to slip postcards, tags and other bits and bobs into. It’s covered with decorative paper based on historical designs from from traditional Italian woodblock printed papers and the spine is Bokhara red bookcloth. It was great fun to make – the problem now is that I don’t want to spoil it by actually writing in it!

Some of the resources used:

Papers from the Forest, Cosmos, Spring Botanic collections by Stamperia
Printable journal pages from Little Lady Paperie and Calico Collage
Florentine paper and bookcloth from Shepherds Bookbinders Ltd
